BASQUILL FAMILY FUNDRAISER

In an instant, the lives of the Basquill family were turned upside down.  In late August, John was taken to the ER after experiencing debilitating stomach issues.  After being misdiagnosed several months prior, current tests and scans revealed John has pancreatic cancer.

John and Lisa quickly met with an oncologist and a plan was set in motion to battle this horrible disease.  Although not curable, treatment has come a long way over the last 20 years and can be utilized to ease the progression of the disease.  John received his first infusion of chemotherapy on September 12th.  This will continue every two weeks.  After the fourth round, scans will be repeated.

John is an extremely hard-working, dedicated husband and father.  His family- Lisa, Sam, Shannon, Luke, and Jake are his whole world.  He has been actively involved in the Pennridge community supporting his children throughout their many years at Pennridge.  No matter what life throws at John (and there has been a lot), he continually chooses to remain positive.  John’s humor, smile and contagious laugh brightens the lives of all those he is around.  This new fight with cancer is nothing different as he is choosing to fight with positivity and a smile.

The purpose of this fundraiser is to help ease the financial burden on the Basquill family. As you can imagine, prolonged cancer treatment will take a huge toll physically, emotionally, and financially on John and the entire family.  These burdens together are unimaginable.  The funds we are hoping to raise, will allow the Basquills to concentrate on John getting well and enable the entire family to put all their energy into fighting this disease.

John inspires us every day with his positive, hope-filled outlook on life- even during this unexpected chapter in his life.  From the bottom of our hearts, we humbly ask that you help support this amazing family through giving financially, praying earnestly for strength and healing, and sharing this story with others.  Life can throw many hard punches as we all know.  Let’s rally together and help support the Basquill family through this difficult time.

Sincerely,

Friends on Springfield Drive
